Marbling and other such paint effects suggests luxury and extravagance, but old crumbling walls and brickwork have a special charm of their own.

The effect is very versatile and I have used it in a myriad ways - whether on sun-baked conservatory walls, a Union Flag graffiti wall, or as part of a rustic Italian mural.
